The NOW Society presents a concert by the NOW Society Orchestra featuring graphic works by Canadian and American composers Nicole Mitchell, Lisa Mezzacappa, Viviane Houle, Roisin Adams, Jeneen Frei Njootli and Charlie Rae.
NOW is a society that challenges. What makes NOW unique is their commitment to creating new improvisatory/compositional work that reflects the highest ideals and pushes NOW's abilities to full capacity. It’s a large part of how they connect with their community of artists, of arts organizations, and the broader community in which we live. The tradition of improvisation goes beyond performance. Embodying the human experience, trust and generosity can be brought to participants through its living practice.
"An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times." -Nina Simone
