Blueridge Chamber Music Festival presents Cabaret for the End of the World

Music for a planet at the edge of doom. Embrace the darkness of chillingly powerful chamber works by Mauricio Kagel, György Kurtag, Laura Bowler, and Alfred Schnittke that reverberate with the echoes of our endangered Earth. The program closes with a rare chance to experience one of the most uncompromising yet transformative works of the 20th century: scored for piano, wooden casket, and eight double basses, iconoclast Galina Ustvolskaya’s Dies Irae is nothing short of apocalyptic.
