Blueridge Chamber Music Festival presents Reduse, Reuse, Recycle!
Where do ideas come from? This concert investigates how composers mould, maneuver, and manipulate musical materials to make masterpieces. The program includes two of the most cherished sets of variations in chamber music history: in Franz Schubert’s “Trout” Quintet and Erich Korngold’s Piano Quintet. Also featured is a boisterous new work for dancer, ensemble, recycled puppets, and video by noisemaker, video artist, curator, and troublemaker Olivia Shortt (Anishinaabe, Nipissing First Nation).
