Chopin Society presents Tymoteusz Bies
The Vancouver Chopin Society is thrilled to present the distinguished young Polish pianist, Tymoteusz Bies. In 2018, Tymoteusz Bies made history as the first winner of the 1st International Szymanowski Competition held in Katowice, Poland. For his Vancouver debut, this rising star will play works by Fryderyk Chopin and Karol Szymanowski.
He has already released two studio albums, and is currently at work on his third recording of music by Szymanowski and Lutoslawski.
In 2019 he received the prestigious „Primus inter pares” title for best graduate of the year, from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice where he is currently teaching.
