Cristela Alonzo is a powerhouse comedian, writer, and actress whose sharp wit and infectious charm have made her a standout voice in comedy today. Most recently, she served as a co-producer on Happy’s Place and continues to bring her unique perspective to screens big and small.
Her latest Netflix comedy special, Upper Classy, premiered on September 23, following the success of her previous hits Middle Classy and Lower Classy — a trilogy that hilariously traces her journey from humble beginnings to unapologetic self-awareness. On the acting front, Cristela has appeared in Netflix’s The Laundromat, starring alongside legends Meryl Streep and Gary Oldman, and before that, she made history as the creator and star of her own ABC sitcom, Cristela.
A regular favourite on The View and a familiar face from Conan, Cristela has also been featured on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution, and Showtime’s Legally Brown. Her work behind the camera has earned her multiple awards, including Best Film at the Boston Comedy Festival for her short films.
Cristela’s range even extends into drama; she appeared in FX’s acclaimed series Sons of Anarchy, but her heart always brings her back to the stage.
