Time Will Tell Arts Society and SINC Arts Inc. present Swagat
Swagat (meaning “heartfelt welcome” in Sanskrit) is a vibrant Bharatanatyam dance production bringing together an intergenerational ensemble of artists from across Metro Vancouver.
Featuring dancers Aditi Chaudhury, Vidya Kotamraju, Pallavi Bharadwaj, Arno Kamolika, Sudnya Mulye, and Sujit Vaidya, the program remimagines traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire for the modern stage. The performance is accompanied by live Carnatic music, featuring Sheema Balakrishnan (vocals), Shriram Rajagopalan (violin), Curtis Andrews (mridangam), with nattuvangam performed by Sujit Vaidya and Arno Kamolika.
Swagat celebrates collaboration, mentorship, and cultural continuity, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience Bharatanatyam with live music in a dynamic and welcoming artistic setting. This one-night-only event highlights the strength and diversity of South Asian classical arts in Vancouver while making the form accessible to new audiences.
