The Vancouver Cantata Singers present Blue
As wavelengths of light are molecularly scattered through the atmosphere, our sky of blue is reflected by the sea. The early origins of the word Blue meant shimmering and lustrous. Now whether cobalt, azure, ultramarine, grey, periwinkle or any other shade, the colour blue represents Nature's images of water, sea and sky, while evoking a feeling of tranquility, solace, imagination and trust.
The Vancouver Cantata Singers offer a concert of music exploring BLUE featuring a new VCS commission by Marcel Bergmann and works by Stanford, Bingham, Barber, Webern, Górecki, Delius, Whitacre and more!
