From Latin dance to swing and vogue, join us for an eclectic mix of FREE dance classes – no experience required! Each event includes an hour-long free dance lesson followed by social dancing as the sun sets.

House Class with Sharon Lee - Friday July 18, 2025 from 6:30 - 9:30pm

Dust off your dancing shoes for the first Dance Dance Dance event of the season! Join us for a free open-air House Class with Sharon Lee followed by an evening of social dancing as the sun sets.

House dance is a footwork-based street dance that originated in 1970s-1980s Chicago and New York, and was influenced by a number of movement styles, including Tap, West African dance, Latin dance, and martial arts. The street dance style is all about freedom, improvisation, and feeling the music. 

ABOUT SHARON LEE

Sharon Lee is a movement artist who’s trained in a variety of street dance styles such as hip hop, house, waacking, and locking. Through her training, she’s travelled to numerous places such as New York City, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Europe, to seek the knowledge from many dance pioneers who paved the way for these street styles. Although Sharon has trained in many street styles, her main dance style is house dance. Through Sharon’s love for house culture has lead her to experience many house dance events and communities across North America.

With Sharon skills, it has landed her to work on many film and television productions such as Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Christmas Chronicles 2, Grease: Rise of the Punk Ladies and many more. She’s also travelled and performed in many art festivals such as Fringe Manila, RAW Artists Los Angeles, BAAD! Ass Women Virtual Festival (NYC). She’s currently a part of the UBCP Dance committee, as a representative for street dancers and women of colour. One of her main focus for being on the committee is to help decrease exploitation, and be a point of contact for street dancers in film and television.
