VCT Presents Silent Movie Mondays

It (1927) Starring Clara Bow

Clara Bow's role as the plucky shop girl in this box office smash brought her global fame and made her the first-ever “It Girl.” Bow is magnetic as Betty, who is enamored with the wealthy owner of the department store where she works and determined to catch his attention.

Escape to the 1920s silent movie era at the historic Orpheum theatre! Vancouver Civic Theatres is thrilled to present Silent Movie Mondays, an immersive experience that screens popular silent films accompanied by dramatic music played live on the historic Wurlitzer organ – the last theatre organ in Canada still performing in its original home.

Join us in the West Coast Lounge for a pre-show performance by the Gatsby Strutters Jazz Band. With Vancouver Civic Organist Michael Dirk on the Wurlitzer organ.

Stick around after the show for a fascinating post-show talk featuring Vancouver Film School's Keith Blackmore and local legend/fashion historian Ivan Sayers. Get ready for a mini-fashion show featuring some of Ivan's favourite flapper-era garments!
