About the Exhibition
Crissy Arseneau – In the Moment
In a time of digital distraction, our ability to focus is diminished. We’re compelled to stay on the virtual surface, skimming information with no chance for consideration before the next shiny thing is imposed. The works in In The Moment aim to counter the rush and distraction with unhurried and deliberate concentration. Primarily made of hand-painted and hand-cut watercolours, Crissy Arseneau’s low-relief paper sculptures explore attention and contemplation, time and place, and our relationship to the natural environment.
Felicia Fraser – Make. Believe.
This exhibit is a celebration of childhood nostalgia – an invitation to remember the freedom and joy of imaginative play. Felicia Fraser’s highly realistic paintings of toys and familiar objects reveal how the seemingly ordinary can carry deep personal and cultural meaning. Removed from their usual context and rendered with precision and care, these simple treasures invite reflection on identity, curiosity, and the experience of growing up.
Katie So – The Way I See It
This exhibit signals Katie So's first step into a more intuitive painting process. From start to finish, this work acts as a sensory soothing exercise, from stretching the raw canvas to applying the ink in focused episodes. This series is entirely black ink, a staple in Katie’s work for the last decade, its applications ranging from illustration to cartooning to tattooing and now painting.
Vancouver Community College – Jewellery Art and Design Graduates exhibit
The exhibition will also feature work by from Hannah Fraser, Rojin Habibi, Rhyleah Hylands, and Chris (Yuetong) Zhang; students and graduates from Vancouver Community College’s Jewellery Arts and Design Program.
