The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Classical Afterworks presents Schubert's Third Symphony
Celebrated as “Powerful, emotional, romantic and dramatic” (The Guardian), Italian conductor and pianist Vanessa Benelli Mosell makes her VSO debut with a program tailored to her distinctive passion. Vanessa brings Philippe Schoeller’s Sereno Sole to life in its North American premiere, alongside Bartók’s playful Divertimento for Strings. Written months after the composer’s 18th birthday, Schubert’s exuberant Third Symphony pulses with youthful optimism.

Colombian cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia is renowned as “technically flawless” (The Strad) and makes his VSO debut with Saint-Saëns’ Second Cello Concerto.
