The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Kids Concerts presents The Peasant Prince: A Symphonic Tale
The Peasant Prince: A Symphonic Tale narrates, with words and music, the inspiring story of Li Cunxin and follows his journey to become one of the world’s greatest ballet dancers. The Peasant Prince is based on his best-selling memoir Mao’s Last Dancer and is a performance for all ages. As a master musical storyteller, Katy Abbott brings to light the profound in the ordinary – exploring themes of connection, hope, melancholy, humour and transformation and beautifully captures the heart of this inspiring story through her colourful orchestrations that connect the shared human experience between performers and audience.
