From its opening brass fanfare, Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony is a high stakes battle against Fate itself, full of drama and resilience. Commissioned for the late Maestro Tovey’s inaugural concert in 2000, Kelly-Marie Murphy’s A Thousand Natural Shocks channels the simultaneous fear and thrill of embarking on a new experience.
