The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Musically Speaking and Symphony Sundays presents Saint-Saëns’ Third Violin Concerto
Named Gramophone’s 2023 Young Artist of the Year, violinist Stella Chen has dazzled audiences worldwide and now makes her highly anticipated Vancouver debut with Saint-Saëns’ mesmerizing Third Violin Concerto. Conductor David Danzmayr, Music Director of the Oregon Symphony, brings his dynamic energy to Schubert’s enigmatic “Unfinished Symphony.” The evening culminates in pure splendor with Richard Strauss’ shimmering suite from his sophisticated Viennese comedy, Der Rosenkavalier.
Maestro Tausk leads the orchestra in Sergei Prokofiev’s exhilarating Fifth Symphony, written at the height of WWII and considered by the composer to be one of his best works.
