Your Event at Vancouver Playhouse
Polished and intimate, the Vancouver Playhouse is a cozy 668 seat venue whose dramatic architecture is reflective of the much larger Queen Elizabeth Theatre nearby.
The venue has retained the vintage feel of its 1962 design, featuring spacious lobby areas and wood and steel interior finishes; recent refurbishing being to true to it's original 60's design with a refreshed palette and patterns.
The perfectly proportioned proscenium stage, with a thrust into the auditorium, makes the space particularly appealing for acoustically driven performances such as chamber music and spoken theatre.

The Vancouver Playhouse is a favourite among performance groups who wish to connect more intimately with their audiences. Frequent presenters include DanceHouse, bringing in dance groups from around the world; Friends of Chamber Music, one of the oldest performing arts organizations in Vancouver; and the Vancouver Recital Society, which presents emerging young artists alongside seasoned award-winners.
